It's been much, much too long..

... since I've posted here. It's a real shame, really.

But I've got excuses, and good stuff has been happening, which is why I'm not here so much these days.

Here's the update in brief:
  • I'm working full-time at Lululemon on Bloor Street for now. It's a really fun, fast-paced little world there, and although it doesn't exactly challenge me the way my own classroom would, I'm working lots, learning lots, shopping lots and having fun doing it all. For instance, I'm (re)learning how to work in a large group of people without being able to automatically assume a leadership role... Humility required!

  • Which brings me to my second update: I just got my license to teach in Ontario so I'll soon be looking for a part-time or summer position, because...

  • I'm studying to get my Certification in Personal Training through the National Strength and Conditioning Assoc. The exam in June 2nd in Montreal so and the material is surprisingly in-depth (starting right from the actin and myosin myofilaments that are the contractile units of a muscle fiber - right out of first year's bio and chem classes.) Personal training is something that has always interested me, so I would like to include in it the list of things I enjoy doing - and for which I get paid!

  • Otherwise, things are pretty fun around here. Nicholas is working long hours but we're really committed to spending time together when we can: going to yoga classes (I get two free classes a week through Lululemon), seeing new movies (Premiered 300 and of Blades of Glory) and making dinners at home (I cook too!)

  • And lastly, I'd like to say that I've finally destroyed all traces of Ambiases that was hanging out in my body. Turns out, though I thought I had fully rid myself of these pesky micro-parasites last summer, I mustn't have finished the job properly. It wasn't until February, when I started needing 10 hrs. of sleep a night because I was feeling drained all the time that I went for a recheck. I endured two weeks of strange and violent detoxification (and Nicholas bared the brunt of my complaints) and now I feel 100% better. My body feels clean, my energy levels returned to normal, and even my mind feels sharper. Hurrah!!

  • Oh yeah, and I dyed my hair blondy-ish...

How come I just discovered this Now?!

So I'm determined to finish up the ESL course work that I started (and abandoned) this time last year, and during my perusal of American vs. British English webpage, I realised that I've been repressing my instincts for my entire written life!

Burnt, dreamt, smelt, spelt, and spoilt are all correct! I wish it was the same for equipt, but no luck there; I just spell that one wrong.

Burned, dreamed, smelled, spelled, and spoiled are all dead to me now.
