Socks? I like socks

... mostly coz that's one of the 'extravagances' I can afford over here. There are so many different types of socks here - whole stores devoted to socks, fashions that specialise in up-to-the-moment sock trends - that I go quite overboard, as this picture will attest.

But seriously, I've always liked having new socks and always liked having the right socks for the right occasion. To the discerning eye, my sports socks are easily divided into sub-categories: cycling, running, gym, hiking, skiing, and cold-weather camping (Three pairs of hand-made mohair socks from Lesquite island - deeeeevine.)

Mmmm.... socks!

Most exotic socks? Have to be the hand-knitted sandal-socks improrted from India that make my feet look like green ninja turtles' (thanks Nicholas!)

Exotic socks indeed - and hooray for small indulgences!

Just a little question as to how long you think you're going to be staying at the current address - considering sending a package by ground... it takes a long time to get there :-) In fact, we'd probably have a baby girl bopping around the house before it got there, but it's a whole heckuvalot cheaper. Something about spending loads of money to ship stuff anywhere kind of rankles me.

Anyhow, all that said, we might just send it by air anyway.

Oh, and I'm sure you'd make a cute ninja turtle. Or maybe you'd be (geek moment coming up!) an April O'Neil kind of character... forget I said that. sigh. Happens to the best of us. I loved the Ninja Turtles.

Ninja Turtles were pretty awesome but I'm not sure April O'Neil would wear ballet slippers like in this photo. She was kinda butch. I think Jodie's been training for more of a motivational Splinter role.

Cool socks babe, I have to break out my woolies, it's getting cold here!

You're probably right on that - though who knows what she might have worn when we weren't looking? You never can tell exactly what people are going to be like from the outside looking in...

That said, yeah, O'Neil in ballet slippers does seem like a bit of a stretch.

(As for Splinter, motivational - maybe, giant mutant rat - probably not. Though, I'm sure there are a few of those lurking 'round London...)

Hi Jode, these shoes are beautiful and the socks elegant.

We have snow! At last. It is so pretty in St. Albert and the leaves are still on the trees etched with lines of snow.

Love you hon!
